In the midst of the violence that plagues Mexico,
almost a score of charred bodies and several shots
were found this weekend in an unpopulated region of northern Mexico.
The Attorney General's Office of the border state of Tamaulipas reported Saturday that it located
19 burned bodies in various vehicles
in the town of Santa Anita, in the municipality of Camargo, about 60 miles from McAllen, Texas, near Nuevo León.
Witnesses of the events consulted by the Efe agency assured that
the victims are of Central American origin
and were taken from a safe house by members of an organized crime group that operates in the entity.

A person alerted the Ministry of Public Security on Saturday that there was a burning vehicle in a gap in the town of Santa Anita, according to the official text.
As a result of the complaint, the state police went to the place, where they
located two burned vehicles, as well as the remains of people.
Local media, such as Proceso magazine, published photographs of the event.
Investigative police officers and forensic experts went to the scene to collect evidence that would reveal in which these people died.
Later, the prosecution opened an investigation for the crime of homicide, derived from the discovery of burned bodies and vehicles.

The people were killed by firearm projectiles and then set on fire, according to the first investigations by the prosecution.

Dispute between cartels
On Friday afternoon, a group of gunmen from
the Northeast Cartel
(CDN), the former Zetas,

to search for a command from the rival group, the
Gulf Cartel
(CDG), the criminal organization that controls the Tamaulipas area, according to the testimonies collected by Efe.
After a confrontation, the CDN hitmen located 19 people, presumably

The CDG and the CDN have been in a dispute for control of the northeastern states of Mexico since March 2010, a conflict that has caused more than 15,000 disappearances and thousands of deaths since that date.
