Yulia Ivanova, spokeswoman for the Russian Investigation Committee in Moscow, announced that four investigations have been opened into criminal cases over the use of violence against law enforcement forces during unauthorized gatherings yesterday in the capital, Moscow.
"The Moscow Investigation Commission has opened investigations in four criminal cases for the use of violence against officials under Article 318 of the Russian Penal Code," Ivanova told TASS.
The spokeswoman explained that the demonstrators caused physical injuries to two Russian guard officers, in addition to a policeman, while they were carrying out their work during an unauthorized march in central Moscow on January 23.
