Sergio Massa ruled out the possibility that Alberto Fernández pardoned the Kirchnerist referents arrested for corruption, such as Milagro Sala or former vice president Amado Boudou.

The president of the Chamber of Deputies denied the possibility of the ruling party promoting a debate on the situation of these leaders.

"An amnesty for corruption cases would be absurd and a big mistake," he

said.

“On my part, there is no chance to discuss an amnesty just as I believe that

the President has no vocation to discuss a pardon

.

Justice is the one who acquits or convicts ”, he added in an interview with the newspaper El País in Spain.

In December, Kirchnerist groups held protests with the slogan "For a Christmas without political prisoners," where they called for the release of former officials and referents detained for corruption.

Days ago, social organizations held a march to the courts to request the release of the Jujuy leader of the Tupac Amaru, who has been imprisoned since 2016, currently serving house arrest, and with a 13-year sentence, accused as head of an illicit association .

The protesters threw garbage bags in front of the Courts during the march to demand the release of Miagro Sala.

This month there was also a letter from a group of leaders and referents from the toughest sectors of Kirchnerism who came out to ask for the

"freedom of Amado Boudou"

, who was sentenced to five years and ten months for the Ciccone case.

However, Massa showed a contrary position against these proposals of a sector of the Frente de Todos.

“I believe that

there is no political need

and I believe that, in any case, the best thing that can happen to us is that each state power does its job.

The legislature to legislate, the justice to acquit or convict and the Executive to carry out the management.

Trying an amnesty sounds absolutely absurd to me

, "he said.

During the report, Massa also spoke about another issue that generates a crack inside the ruling party: the regime of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela.

“I have maintained for years that

the Venezuelan government does not comply with the minimum democratic guidelines

.

The President has also been clear in his support for the Bachelet Report and has a very clear position regarding the need for Venezuela to move towards democracy based on a solution that Venezuelans find with the help of the rest of the nations, ”he said.

When asked about the relationship between Alberto Fernández and his vice Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and decision-making in the Government, he was blunt in answering:

“The President is in charge, do not doubt it

.

And he highlighted the relationship of “respect and work Although he admitted that they “once” talked about their past differences.

"Each of us can advise or give an opinion from experience and the President can make the decision based on what one or the other thinks. But have no doubt that

the leadership of the Government is being carried out by President Alberto Fernández,

" he concluded.
