Madrid returned this Saturday to 2019. The Paseo del Prado once again recovered its usual weekend demonstrations ... without a mask.

About 1,300 people gathered to proclaim that the coronavirus does not exist, that everything is a fallacy.

The delegation of the Government and the Ministry of Health authorized the march because, they say, the organizers themselves confirmed that they would comply with the health protocols.

The images and videos of the march show that this was not the case.

The majority did not keep a safe distance and did not wear a mask.

The rally started at 5:00 p.m. and ended at 9:00 p.m.

At the end, according to police sources, 216 sanctions were filed: 40 for disobedience and the rest for not wearing a mask.

The fines range between 100 and 700 euros.

According to the Efe agency in a video, the attendees chanted for several hours chants such as: "We want to breathe", "Illa, Illa, Illa, out of masks", "freedom, freedom", "false tests, false positives" and "television handling".

At the head of the march, the protesters were also not wearing masks.

Most laughed when the cameras focused on them.

Signs were also seen saying "they won't let us work", "plandemic", "in the face of unfair rules it is fair to disobey", "covid 1984" or "we are not deniers, we defend life."

The government delegation assures that the police insisted several times to the demonstrators that they put on their masks and that they keep a safe distance.

Most ignored it and 216 of the nearly 1,300 were fined.

"The march brought together about 500, but it was at the end of it, already in the Plaza de Colón, when they exceeded a thousand," police sources maintain.

The demonstration was requested by the Conscious and Free Humans Collective and supported by artists such as Enrique Bunbury or Carmen Paris.

"Although I cannot attend the march, I am with you," Bunbury said in a video.

“We are in a difficult moment that it seems that we must remember our freedoms.

Freedom of expression, movement, medical freedom and the right to work.

They are so obvious things that I find it a shame to repeat them out loud ”.

On the collective's website they have posted the manifesto that they read at the end of the march: “They will not be able to beat us, because their lies about ghost bugs, outbreaks, new strains, saturated hospitals and health emergencies no longer filter, their threats do not give us fear and their emotional blackmail has stopped working.

They will not be able to with us, because we have stopped believing in ideologies and anachronistic slogans of the left, right, center, and all those inventions of design and social engineering, created to divide and confront us ”.

The Community of Madrid has almost tripled the cases of coronavirus in 30 days.

Last Thursday it reached 875 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.

Hospitals already have more than double the number of patients (3,721 this Thursday) and their critical units work at 129% of their maximum occupation in structural positions, with 608 seriously ill.
