- In Bavaria, FFP2 masks are mandatory when shopping and on public transport.

But they are not cheap.

The Free State therefore provides free masks to those in need.

Caregiving relatives also receive free masks.

Distribution in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district has started.

"15,000 masks of the Free State have been packed in envelopes in the district office in order to send them to the needy in the district," said district office spokeswoman Marlis Peischer.

Those entitled will now receive five masks each by post.

This applies to everyone who receives Hartz IV or basic security, explains Theresa Kaufmann, the department head responsible for social affairs in the district office.

Around 3,000 times on Wednesday and Thursday in the social affairs department and in the job center it was said: “Open envelope, put cover letter and masks in, seal envelope.” Masks were also organized in the asylum department.

They are issued to the asylum seekers in the accommodation.

Every eligible person should receive three, on Friday, according to the district office, the organizational details were clarified.

District Administrator Josef Niedermaier got in touch with the mayors of the district communities via video conference.

“We actually don't even know who the caregiving relatives are,” he says.

The procedure is now handled very differently in the communities, depending on how it is most practicable.

The masks were distributed on Friday morning to the municipalities, who are now responsible for passing them on.

In any case, the following applies: The letter from the long-term care insurance company with the determination of the degree of care of the community citizen in need of care is considered proof.

When picking up the masks, attention is drawn to the applicable distance, hygiene and mask rules.

These are the regulations for the individual cities and municipalities:

  • Bad Heilbrunn:

  • Bad Tölz:

    Issue at the locations: a) Kurbücherei in the bathing section, Ludwigpromenade 18;

    b) City Library, Hindenburgstrasse 21. At both locations: Monday, January 25, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

    Tuesday, January 26th, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Benediktbeuern:

    Issue next to the town hall at the guest information desk on Monday, January 25th and Tuesday, January 26th, at the times 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Bichl:

    Issue at the town hall, Kocheler Straße 9, at the side entrance at the spinning room, on Monday, January 25, 1 to 4 p.m.

  • Dietramszell:

  • Königsdorf:

    Issue directly at the town hall, back entrance from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., on Thursday also 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

    The masks will be handed out during the usual opening times in room 1 of the Münsinger town hall, Weipertshausener Straße 5, from Monday, January 25th.

  • Lenggries:
