After 56,571 tweets it was over.
On January 8, Twitter suspended President Donald Trump's personal account @realDonaldTrump - two days after a murderous mob he had instigated stormed the US Capitol.
Facebook and Instagram also separated him from the network, at least temporarily.
Twitter took Trump the megaphone that he has been using since 2009.
Initially, he advertised television appearances and his Miss elections on the social network, and from 2016 he used it for the presidential election campaign.
And vowed improvement after his victory: "I will hold back very much if I use it at all," said Trump about his Twitter activities before moving into the White House.
It turned out quite differently.
Trump started a trade dispute in 280 characters, put pressure on companies, humiliated and fired ministers, abused employees and political opponents, denied the legitimacy of the 2020 election results, and finally incited violent opponents of democracy.
According to estimates by the Washington Post, Donald Trump spent around 233 hours writing tweets from taking office in January 2017 to May 2020.
