Six months after the discovery of negationist tags, the production without authorization of a musical clip in the martyr village, in Haute-Vienne, arouses the indignation of the town hall. A complaint was filed by the first city councilor, Philippe Lacroix.

It's a wild shoot that doesn't get through.

Discoveries on the social networks of a hip-hop artist, some first images of a clip shot in near the ruins of the martyr village of Oradour-sur-Glane (Haute-Vienne) aroused strong reactions from the town hall and the association of families of martyrs who announced that they had lodged a complaint.

Of a rather confidential notoriety, the artist in question - whose name was not disclosed - had broadcast these images on his Twitter and Instagram accounts on Friday, January 22, ahead of the release of a musical clip that he was planning to upload this Sunday, January 24.

The teaser had drawn the attention of the town hall the same day, which immediately informed the sub-prefecture of Haute-Vienne and the public prosecutor of the Judicial Court of Limoges.

The excerpt in question has since been removed from the social network and the broadcast of the clip has been canceled.

Although there is nothing to suggest that the incriminated clip was of a reprehensible nature, it is the illegal nature of its production that provoked the anger of the local authorities, no authorization for this filming having been issued.

All filming carried out on the site of the martyr village is subject to authorizations from the Drac, the town hall, the association of families of martyrs, and the Center de la Mémoire.

the mayor of Oradour-sur-Glane, Philippe Lacroix.

"

They are essentially documentaries,

" he added, alluding to the likely inappropriate nature of the music video with the character of the site.

A sanctuary of memory

Six months after the discovery of negationist tags, this new case once again questions the sometimes difficult maintenance of the memory of the Oradour-sur-Glane massacre perpetrated at the end of World War II by an armored unit of Waffen-SS .

643 civilian victims were murdered in the village on June 10, 1944.

"

People need to understand that freedom is freedom, but you cannot do just anything in a site like Oradour

" underlined Philippe Lacroix for France 3 Régions.

It is an international site, symbol of misfortunes, symbol of pain and it is a place of meditation.

And in a place of meditation, we do not make a video of this nature.

"

The remains of Oradour-sur-Glane have been preserved intact since November 28, 1944. Listed as a historic monument in 1946, the martyred village has hosted a Memorial Center since 1999.

A new village - for which President Vincent Auriol laid the first stone - was built near the town destroyed from June 10, 1947.
