Academic institutions periodically become the ground for ideological offensives that seek to promote new orthodoxies, while striving to intimidate or silence those who do not adhere to them.
In authoritarian regimes, these offensives are often driven by political powers.
In democratic countries, on the contrary, they are usually the result of active minorities within the faculty and the student community.
With several years of lag compared to the Anglo-Saxon countries, we are witnessing one of these offensives in France: conferences are disrupted, conferences interrupted or canceled, lessons boycotted, teachers harassed and accused of not giving in to a doxa which wants to be obligatory.
