In Occitania, the percentage of contamination with the British variant is 1.5%, in the national average, according to Jacques Izopet, head of the Virology laboratory at the Purpan Hospital in Toulouse.
The Saint-Exupéry nursing home has a total of 68 residents and more than 80 employees.
The English variant is more contagious than previous mutations of the virus according to several studies.
