Donald Trump is said to have planned a desperate coup in the last days of his tenure in order to remain in office as US President.

US President Donald Trump had
tries to cling to his office and probably considered every conceivable scenario in order
to be able to stay
in the
White House
for another four years
.
Long before the election, the
US president had
therefore taken up the narrative that the
Democrats
would try to “steal” his victory using forged postal ballot papers and purchased election workers.

Donald Trump
actually lost
the swing states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and
Georgia
to
Joe Biden
one after the other
in the
presidential election
due to the
postal votes
, he stuck to his allegations and initially did not recognize the result.
Trump
and his team of advisors filed innumerable lawsuits, had some of the ballot papers counted again, and examined every opportunity to
contest
the
election
.
At a meeting with lawyer and conspiracy ideologist Sidney Powell, Trump is said to have even inquired about a possible declaration of martial law.
To date, however, the 74-year-old and his team have not been able to provide any conclusive evidence that the
election
was
tampered with
, and the recounts also confirmed the old result.

Trump
is said to have
planned one last desperate attempt
to reverse
the
election results
and stay in office
in the last few weeks of his
term
in office.
The article, which refers to four former
Trump team members
, reports that the outgoing
US President
wanted to remove
his
Attorney General Jeffrey A. Rosen
.
The reason for this was that Rosen
had rejected
Trump's
demands to abuse his position to, among other things
, contest
the election result in
Georgia
.
Rosen, who had only taken over from his predecessor William Barr on December 24th, was to be replaced by
Trump's
confidante
Jeffrey Clark
, who should then have helped Trump to victory in Georgia through his new office.

In the end, Donald Trump
was only unable to implement his plan because high-ranking
Justice Department officials
had threatened to resign if
US President
Jeffrey Rosen was lifted from office.
The external impact of these resignations probably ultimately dissuaded the 74-year-old from his project.
Both
Donald Trump
and Jeffrey Rosen declined to comment on the reports.
