For the first time since the start of production of the Heron MK II, the most advanced aircraft in the Heron family, IAI announced today (Monday) a deal worth tens of millions of dollars for the sale of the aircraft to a country in Asia. 

The UAV was first unveiled exactly a year ago at an exhibition in Singapore, which was defined by IAI as a "strategic aircraft" designed for long-term activity and long-term stay in the air. This is an improved and advanced model of the company's flagship UAV, Ron .

Another aircraft from the family is the "Eitan" whose professional name is Heron TP. 

IAI announces today (Monday) that two deals totaling tens of millions of dollars were recently signed with an Asian country for the transfer of two aircraft systems.

The systems include the UAVs, ground systems for command and control and payloads (dedicated cargo carried by the aircraft) for intelligence gathering. 

The Heron MK II is the most advanced model of the Heron family. It reaches an altitude of 35,000 feet, a maximum speed of 140 knots and can stay in the air for up to 45 hours of flight. Thanks to improved production technologies, the aircraft has a wide body structure and internal volume Larger, which allows to carry a very wide range of configurations that significantly improve the operational flexibility and maintenance capacity of the UAV - all without changing the UAV's own weight. The UAV carries a long-range observation and radar and capable radar. Carry a wide range of additional payloads such as: ELINT, COMINT and more. 

The most prominent capability in the UAV, they say in the aerospace industry, is to perform intelligence-gathering missions on the other hand - gathering intelligence on targets from tens of kilometers away without having to cross a border line, thanks to its ability to carry larger and improved sensors at higher altitudes.
