Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte is expected to resign tomorrow (Tuesday) in the hope that President Silvio Materella will impose another government on him.
The purpose of the resignation is to avoid a critical no-confidence vote that could lead the country to elections, in which the country's dominant party, the Five Star Party, could lose significant power.
Conte needs to find new supporters in parliament for his coalition after members of the Haim faction for Italy left the government and joined the ranks of the opposition.
In the country, it is estimated that the president, who is scheduled to meet with the prime minister tomorrow morning, will impose the government train on him and will not risk going to the polls in a plague situation.
In the background of the political storm is a decision by the Ministry of Finance to begin assessing the damage caused to the Italian economy during the Corona crisis, in order to devise a plan to emerge from the economic crisis. Models published by the Ministry of Finance predict a possible deficit level of more than nine percent.
