In Mexico there are 126,014,024 inhabitants, of which 51.2% are women and 48.8% are men, according to what the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) reported on the basis of in the last population and housing census published this Monday.
The entity also reported that the average age is 29 years.
The state of Mexico is the most populated with 16,992,418 inhabitants.
Meanwhile, Colima is the state with the smallest population: it has 731,391 inhabitants.

INEGI indicated that the census, which is carried out every ten years, was carried out from March 2 to 27, 2020. More than 200,000 people participated in the collection of information, according to what the entity indicated.
For the first time, "mobile computing devices were used as the main means of capturing, in addition to capturing information via the internet and telephone, as complementary methods," the statement said.
