The combat roles in the infantry brigades and special units have not yet opened up for women, but it seems that the IDF is already preparing itself for the huge change.

In a recent survey sent to candidates for recruitment by the IDF, the options for serving in units such as Givati, Paratroopers and a flotilla were also open to women.

In a message sent to young men and women on mobile phones, it was stated that this was a "survey on issues related to your expected enlistment in the IDF."

The survey was first revealed by the Organization of Combat Theory.

Options included roles available for both genders such as "pilot or captain", "armored fighter, artillery or combat engineering", "border protection fighter (example: caracal, fighter / rescue and combat, combat pickup)" , "Border Fighter", training positions, logistics, human resources and more.

However, among the categories were also presented combat roles that are currently not open to women such as "infantry fighter (example: Golani, Givati, Nahal, Kfir)" and "fighter in volunteer units (example: patrols, paratroopers, Cruise) ".

It should be noted that the issue of opening all combat units for women is highly controversial, as it has been in the past year regarding the Armored Warriors pilot.

While there are elements who support the integration of fighters in other formations, such as MK Merav Michaeli and Nahal Brigadier General Col. Israel Shomer, there are those who oppose this, such as the head of the Tzahali pre-military preparatory school, Rebbetzin Michal Nagan, and Brigadier General Avigdor Kahalani. .

It is estimated that the survey, conducted by the IDF's Behavioral Sciences Division (MADA), is intended, among other things, to assess the degree of motivation that exists among young women to enlist in all combat units and to examine the feasibility of the move for the IDF.

The IDF Spokesman stated that "this is not a preference questionnaire for IDF officers, but a survey that was distributed by MMDA and is used to expand the IDF's internal knowledge only. This survey should not be linked to the various processes currently taking place in the IDF." And women alike in the survey. "
