Occupied Jerusalem - SANA

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its call on the international community to take urgent action to stop the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and their holy sites.

The Foreign Ministry condemned, in a statement today, carried by Wafa Agency, the occupation’s continuous attacks on the Ibrahimi Mosque in the West Bank city of Hebron, the last of which was preventing the Hebron Rehabilitation Committee from completing its restoration work.

The Foreign Ministry pointed out that the occupation's prevention of restoration works in the Ibrahimi Mosque, the Dome of the Rock and the Marwani Mosque in the Al-Aqsa Mosque reflects its persistence in implementing its plans to Judaize the holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, Hebron and the rest of the occupied West Bank by changing the identity, landmarks, and reality of the occupied Palestinian territory.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that all Judaizing colonial occupation measures are null and illegal in accordance with international law, United Nations resolutions and the Geneva Conventions, calling on the international community and the relevant UN organizations, especially the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, to fulfill its legal obligations and responsibilities towards Christian and Islamic holy places and to move urgently to implement UN decisions.
