An indictment was filed in the Nazareth District Court today (Monday) for the murder of Muhammad Faisal Grifat, 25, from the town of Zarzir in the Jezreel Valley.

According to the indictment, the defendant murdered 48-year-old Ziad Grifat, also a resident of Zarzir, when he hit him on the head with a wooden pole.

The murder happened on Saturday night last month, around 10:30 p.m.

The police were called to the village and located an arena near the house of the murdered man. During the collection of the findings, they located another arena about 70 meters away.

During the searches, police investigators found two large wooden poles with blood marks on them and began collecting eyewitness testimony.

The police investigation revealed that following a conflict between young people that developed at the entrance to the village of Zarzir around 9:30 PM, the suspect's brother was attacked and left the place when he was slightly injured and bruised.

About an hour later, the quarrel between the young men resumed this time near the victim's house, with the murdered man's son also involved.

Three days after the murder the accused arrived at a police station and turned himself in.

The evidence was transferred to the Northern District Attorney's Office, which filed an indictment this morning and at the same time a request for his detention until the end of the proceedings.
