With

discounts of up to 30%

with respect to the prices in force in December, there will be 10 cuts of meat that will be offered

on weekends and the first 3 Wednesdays of each month

, according to negotiations between the Government and the exporting refrigerators, which this Monday at 5 pm, the

Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, will officially announce.

The agreement includes eight cuts, in addition to the two (Minced Beef and Espinazo) that are already present in the Precious Care program.

The prices in each case are the following:

  • Roast Strip

    :

    $ 399

    (29% lower than December)

  • Empty:

    $ 499

    (20% lower than in December)

  • Matambre:

    $ 549

    (13% lower than in December)

  • Roast top: $ 429

    (15% lower than December)

  • Square / Loin Ball

    :

    $ 489

    (13% lower than December)

  • Carnaza:

    $ 359

    (13% lower than in December)

  • Skirt:

    $ 229

    (30% lower than December)

  • Roastbeef: $ 399

    (12% lower than December)

  • Among other salient features of the annual agreement, with periodic review, it is estimated that in the first quarter of this year it would include

    an initial volume of between 5,500 and 6,000 tons per month.

    Regarding the points of sale, it transpired that initially they will be marketed

    in supermarkets and in the Central Market of Buenos Aires

    .

    There will be more than

    1,000 points of sale throughout the country

    .

    The plan is based on an agreement with the

    ABC export consortium

    , which usually sells cuts that are not in demand abroad to supermarkets.

    In that sense, it is already the

    main supplier of the supermarket channel

    .

    Now it would seek to promote this model,

    "a la Uruguaya"

    , in reference to the program promoted by the former president of that country, José "Pepe" Mujica, with

    the aim of selling the most expensive cuts abroad and leaving the cheapest in the market. domestic market

    , with the particularity that cuts for roasting are demanded on both sides of the Río de la Plata, and for that reason they are often not the cheapest in this region.

    Now, as requested by President Alberto Fernández weeks ago, in the midst of the discussion about the closure of corn exports,

    the Government intends "to make barbecue accessible to Argentines."

    Hence, half of the cuts included in the list are destined for embers.

    The agreement also includes

    other chambers of the cattle and meat chain such

    as CADIF, FIFRA, UNICA and the supermarkets grouped in ASU.
