Knesset member Zvi Hauser (New Hope) today (Tuesday) called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi to act to give the corona vaccine to the 195 Righteous Among the Nations.
Of the 27,712 Hasidim who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust, only 195 of them survived.
Most surviving followers live in Eastern Europe and are over 90 years old, a figure that puts them at significant risk of contracting the virus.
"The connection between the Jewish people and the Righteous Among the Nations is an eternal connection," said MK Hauser. This is our moral and historical duty, and it will be a step that expresses gratitude and compliance with our oath and our parents' oath of mutual guarantee. "This year marks the International Holocaust Remembrance Day starting tomorrow."
