Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi said that the arrival of the heads of the Israeli missions in Morocco and Dubai completes the first stage of opening new Israeli missions in the region as part of the "Abraham Agreements".

"This is living evidence of the changes taking place in the region and the warm peace between us and the countries in the region," he said.

The Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi officially opened on Tuesday, about four months since the normalization agreement was signed with the United Arab Emirates.

A Foreign Ministry spokesman announced that the embassy had opened with the arrival of the representative of the mission, Eitan Na'a.

According to the ministry, the Israeli embassy in the United Arab Emirates will promote the full range of relations between the countries on all levels and expand ties with the emirate government, economic bodies and the private sector, academia, the media and more.

The embassy will work to advance Israel's interests and be at the disposal of its citizens.
