Children and young people under 20 appear to be more spared from the virus.
They make up less than one percent of hospital patients and very rarely develop a severe form of the disease.
However, their role in the epidemic is not trivial.
Because often healthy carriers, without symptoms, they are likely to participate in the spread of the pandemic to other age groups who for some are much more at risk.
A low incidence rate
According to the analysis of the figures, since the resumption of the epidemic in September 2020, children under 9 years old have had the incidence rate, that is to say the number of cases per 100,000 children of the same age group over 7 days, the weakest.
Perhaps, as we will see, because they are also less tested.
