In the middle of this month, the Chinese University of Hong Kong had a security guard being scattered. Following the arrest of a 20-year-old man surnamed Cao on the spot, the police yesterday (25th) arrested three men aged 19-22 and wanted a fugitive university student.

According to the news, the 22-year-old CUHK student who was wanted in the case and surnamed Luo went to the Tsuen Wan Police Station to surrender himself to assist in the investigation this evening.

The five people involved in the incident have been arrested so far. They are all students from the same school, most of whom are student leaders, including the chairman of the Interim Administrative Committee of the CUHK Student Union, Ou Zhuoxi.

Police said that at about 6:30 this afternoon, a 22-year-old man surrendered to the Tsuen Wan Police Station. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of "illegal assembly" and "assaulting others with intent to refrain from doing certain acts" and is now being detained for investigation.

Initial investigation results revealed that the man was suspected of attempting to destroy the fence on Tai Po Road near University Station on January 11, during which powder was suspected to have been spilled.

At noon on the 11th of this month, at the security post near the University Station of CUHK, a number of people in black pushed down the railings. A 55-year-old male security guard was sprayed with unknown powder. Afterwards, he felt discomfort in his eyes and was sent to the hospital for treatment.

A 20-year-old man surnamed Cao was intercepted by security, and was later arrested by the police for "misconduct in public places" and "ordinary assault." Firefighters arrived at the scene to test the white powder, and the powder was weakly acidic.

After the police investigation, four more people were identified and three men aged 19 to 22 were arrested yesterday in CUHK, Tsuen Wan and Fanling districts on suspicion of "illegal assembly" and "assault on others with intent to cause non-action".

The Provisional Administrative Committee of the Student Union of CUHK stated on Facebook that one of the arrested persons was the chairman of the provisional administrative committee of the association, Ou Zhuoxi, and a team of volunteer lawyers is following up.

According to section 40 "Ordinary Assault" of the "Offences Against the Person Ordinance" Chapter 212 of Hong Kong Laws, crimes that can be tried by summary or indictment are punishable by imprisonment for one year.

And Chapter 200 of the Criminal Offences Ordinance, Part 4, "Intimidation" section 25 "Assault on others with intent to cause or omit certain acts", upon summary conviction, a fine of $2,000 and imprisonment for 2 years. Once prosecuted Procedural conviction is punishable by imprisonment for 5 years.
