The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the expansion plans of the Israeli occupation entity in the Palestinian territories, as they contradict international and humanitarian law and represent an obstacle to peace in the region.
Sputnik quoted Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard as saying in a session of the United Nations Security Council via video that "settlement activities are considered acts that are inconsistent with international and humanitarian law, as they represent an obstacle to efforts to achieve a permanent solution that would bring peace to the region," calling on the Israeli occupation authorities to end These plans and the immediate end of the demolition of Palestinian homes to impose a negative reality on the ground.
Mexico considers it necessary to ensure compliance with the provisions of Resolution 2334 of 2016, which affirms that ending the expansion of Israeli settlements is essential to the two-state solution.
