The Hong Kong government issued a "compulsory testing notice", requiring employees of homes for the elderly, homes for the disabled and nursing homes to be tested for the new crown virus between January 28 and February 6.

Institutional staff can choose to go to community testing centers, temporary testing centers, or mobile sampling stations to receive free virus testing services; or arrange for medical staff or trained personnel to collect samples through the institution's operators and conduct testing in approved laboratories; Or the staff can arrange for testing at an accredited laboratory at their own expense.

Any relevant person who fails to comply with the test announcement is a crime and is liable to a fixed fine of 5,000 yuan and will receive a mandatory test order requiring the person to be tested within the specified period.

Failure to comply with the mandatory testing order is a crime. Once convicted, it is liable to a fourth-level fine (25,000 yuan) and six months' imprisonment.
