Since the introduction of the strict entry rules for passengers from risk areas or countries where corona mutations are rampant, the federal police have found numerous violations.
On Sunday, new rules came into force that prescribe a corona test before departure for people entering from high-risk areas.
According to an internal balance sheet, 64 out of around 2,200 people affected at Frankfurt Airport alone either did not take the mandatory corona test or did not register in the electronic immigration database.
The next day, the federal police found 63 such violations.
In most cases, the officials wrote administrative offense reports that resulted in a fine.
When entering from countries in which virus mutations spread, passengers are handed over directly to the health department without a fresh negative test, have to be tested and then put in quarantine.
For this purpose, the authorities have set up an airport hotel at the airport as a kind of isolation station.
