Annegret Ptach
, born in 1948. Grew up in Bremerhaven.
Ms. Ptach says that she still remembers the debris fields in the area, but never had to go hungry.
As a young woman, she trained as a commercial clerk, then she worked as a saleswoman in a department store, and later became self-employed.
Today she heads the senior citizens' meeting of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (Awo) in Hamburg-Stellingen.
