A little over twelve hours from the finish, Charlie Dalin was still leading the Vendée Globe fleet.
At 5:00 a.m., the skipper of Apivia, who chose to sail along the northern Spanish coast before starting his ascent to Les Sables d'Olonne which he should reach in the evening, had 49 miles ahead of Boris Herrmann (Seaexplorer-Yacht Club de Monaco).
Much further north, Louis Burton (Bureau Vallée 2) is still 3rd (+58 miles) ahead of Thomas Roût (LinkedOut, +152.5) and Yannick Bestaven (Maître CoQ, +183).
Remember that the latter has a compensation of 10:15 for having turned away in the rescue operation of Kevin Escoffier and that it will be necessary to subtract from his stopwatch after his arrival.
Same situation for Boris Herrmann whose bonus is 6:00.
Since the final is very close, these two men could win the day.
