Luo Guisheng, chairman of the Electrical Appliances Trade Union, pointed out that there are different types of heaters, including oil-filled heaters, radiant electric heaters, blower heaters, etc. Citizens should check the heating line before using radiant electric heaters and blower heaters. Or whether there is dust in the air outlet, if there is dust, it will cause smoke during the heating process.

Oil-filled heaters are relatively safe, but require a longer time to heat up.

Luo Guisheng said that no matter what kind of heater the citizens use, objects should be kept away from the heater during the process to avoid overheating or even fire alarm in the covering heater.

In addition, you should also ensure that the heater components can operate normally before use.

The Consumer Council recommends safe use of electric heaters:

1. The electric heater should not be placed under the power socket to prevent the socket and plug from being heated.

Except for special design, it should not be placed in the bathroom.

Do not use an electric heater to dry clothes or cover the heater with curtains to prevent the heater from overheating and fire hazards;

2. Electric heaters generally have a higher power, which may reach 2,500 watts. Avoid sharing the universal socket or extension board with other high-power-consuming appliances, and do not change the electric heater to a 5-amp round plug with lower current. It may overload the power supply or plug;

3. The surface temperature of the red radiant electric heater is quite high. Users should not place the electric heater near curtains or beds, or cover the body with clothing and paper;

4. The oil-filled electric heater is quite heavy, and if it accidentally falls on its side, it will crush nearby children.

It is not easy to see the high temperature of the heating plate of the heater from the surface. Children may burn the skin when they touch it. Parents must pay attention;

5. General electric heaters can be used for a long time as long as they meet safety standards and are properly maintained. However, when you leave the room or do not use the heater, you should turn off the power to save energy.
