He takes on a great deal of responsibility: Emergency paramedic Florian Kugler (27) is the new head of the Schnell-Einsatz-Gruppe at the Freising / Marzling location.

Freising

- Florian Kugler, full-time emergency paramedic at the Freising ambulance and volunteer at the BRK Readiness Freising for over seven years, takes on a great responsibility: The 27-year-old is the new head of the Schnell-Einsatz-Gruppe (SEG) Transport Süd at the Freising / Marzling.

The SEG is alerted if a particularly high number of injuries are to be expected.

Kugler is a BRK all-rounder

Florian Kugler was able to recruit ten new members for the SEG.

This increases the total number to 15. “This high number of members is necessary to ensure operational readiness at any time of the day in the shortest possible time, since many members work in Munich, especially on weekdays,” reports the deputy on-call manager Benedikt Popken.

Florian Kugler is a BRK all-rounder.

In addition to his new position, the trained precision mechanic for mechanical engineering also works as a vehicle maintenance manager for Freising and as a "motorcycle specialist".

One of his voluntary projects is the restoration of a more than 30 year old BRK emergency motorcycle from BMW, which is in excellent condition today for the medical security services of the BRK standby.

SEG transports are alerted if a high number of injuries is expected

The SEG Transport is a disaster control unit and is equipped with two emergency ambulances (N-KTW).

One of the N-KTW is in Eching, the other in the Marzling disaster control hall.

The so-called "four-stretcher ambulance" (N-KTW) is one of the oldest vehicles in service.

In the event of an emergency, the N-KTW is staffed with two to three Red Cross members who have the minimum qualification as medical technicians (96 hours of training).

Popken: “Many members of the SEG have the qualification of paramedics - a three-month course - and are actively and voluntarily involved in the rescue service as drivers at the BRK-Wache Freising.

This regular rescue service experience is the best exercise for the members of the SEG to act safely in action. ”The three-month paramedic training is mostly entirely voluntary, requires a lot of free time and vacation of the members and shows a high level of commitment to the protection and the Security of the population.

The training costs are covered by the BRK.

A SEG Transport is alerted when a high number of injuries is expected who have to be transported, for example in the event of bus and train accidents, amok and terrorist situations, fires and the like.

In Freising, the number of deployments is stable with two to three deployments per year.

In order to ensure the suitability of the new SEG members, Florian Kugler held vehicle briefings in the summer under strict hygiene standards.
