The Kwun Tong Police District Anti-Triad Action Team launched an anti-illegal debt collection operation code-named "Arrow Rain" in the district yesterday (26th), arresting three teenagers, aged 15 to 16, for criminal damage.
The three arrested teenagers were suspected of being connected with 11 illegal debt collection cases that occurred between July last year and January this year, involving 11 victims and involving about 60,000 yuan.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim received a loan call from unknown origin, with a loan of about 5,000 to 10,000 yuan.
When the victim is unable to repay, he will receive nuisance calls, text messages, and be sprayed with red oil.
Among them, criminals used hundreds to thousands of dollars to solicit unemployed young people and students to get red oil.
Three people are being detained for investigation.
The police urge young people not to become puppets of criminal syndicates and engage in illegal activities because of money.
The police also reminded members of the public that if they need to borrow money, they should borrow money from a money lender with a money lender license and a good reputation, and clarify the terms of the loan contract. They should not easily believe in loan advertisements from unknown sources to incur greater losses.
