Due to the corona, the information days at the daycare centers have to be canceled this year.

The community facilities in Holzkirchen therefore give families a virtual insight.

Holzkirchen

- For a number of years now, registration for crèches and kindergartens has been going through Markt Holzkirchen.

This applies to all 14 institutions in the municipality, regardless of the provider.

The parents must fill out a form and send it to the town hall.

For the kindergarten year 2021/2022 between March 1st and April 12th.

As usual, the municipality forwards the registrations to the day care center of your choice.

The institutions then decide independently which children to accept.

"The current situation has no impact on the allocation of places in the individual kindergartens and day nurseries," explains town hall spokeswoman Annika Walther.

However, there is a big difference this year in the crisis compared to previous years: "Unfortunately, the information days on site have to be canceled due to Corona," says Walther.

These usually take place at the beginning of the year.

So that families can get to know the facilities in advance this year, those responsible have come up with an alternative program.

Those day-care centers where the community acts as the provider will provide an insight into virtual information days, explains Walther.

“The facilities are currently preparing materials and information for the website.” In addition to photos and text explanations, this also includes presentations and videos.

"In this way, parents can get an idea of the facility, the rooms and the carers." In addition, telephone calls or possibly video conferences are planned.

"The respective day care center will be happy to answer any further questions by phone."

Other carriers handle the procedure a little differently.

The Protestant day care center Hollerbusch, for example, will be offering individual tours for interested families from February - after prior telephone registration - reports one of the two leaders, Ursula Stacheter.

“We use the off-peak times for this,” she explains.

So times when there are almost no children in the house.

So father, mother and child are allowed to take a look at the facility - but only the empty rooms - and ask questions.

Of course with a face mask and in compliance with all hygiene requirements.

"So far, however, the demand has been rather restrained," says Stacheter.

There were around 18 registrations for the guided tour for kindergarten and crèche.

Many parents may be insecure.

For the day care center itself - which in normal times offers a shared information day for all interested parties - the regulation is of course a great deal of effort.

"But it doesn't help," says Stacheter.

The Catholic day-care center St. Josef proceeds in a similar way.

As an alternative to the conventional open day, according to the director Veronika Voigt, there is a fixed day for visits in her facility this year.

On Friday, February 5th, one parent can visit the day care center at a fixed time window of 30 minutes - which must be arranged in advance by telephone.

With FFP2 mask and Co., but without a child.

On this day the children would be sent home a little earlier - so that they would not meet the visitors.

However, the offer only applies to the crèche - because no new places can be allocated in the kindergarten in the new kindergarten year.

"But that has nothing to do with Corona," explains Voigt.

Overall, the individual tours have been well received.
