The vaccination campaign in the IDF continues, and the army is currently formulating new definitions for units that will be considered "vaccinated" and will receive some relief in the conduct of the corona.

According to the current order, in the order of the Operations Division (AMZ) that will be distributed in the coming days, a "vaccinated" unit will be defined as a unit in which at least 85% of the servicemen were vaccinated or contracted the virus. According to the plan, each unit that is defined as "vaccinated" will receive different reliefs.

Nearly 120,000 were vaccinated

At the individual level, for example, any soldier who has passed a week from his second vaccination will receive an exemption from isolation after exposure to a verified patient.

At the unit level, a "vaccinated" unit will begin a certain return to routine.

Thus, for example, soldiers in vaccinated units will be able to return to training in gyms, some of the unit capsules will be eliminated, it will be possible to put more soldiers in a closed classroom and increase the number of open-air gatherings, and of course participants in closed rooms.

To date, 101,604 servants have been vaccinated with the first vaccine as well as 16,832 with the second vaccine.

The IDF hopes to soon complete the vaccination of the operational units and move on to vaccinate more units next week, with the estimate that by mid-February about half of the combat unit will meet 85% vaccinations. The hope is to complete the vaccination campaign in the army by Passover.

The army does not yet know what percentage of soldiers refuse to be vaccinated.

Although the IDF cannot oblige servicemen to receive the vaccine, it invests a great deal of effort in convincing soldiers who refuse to be vaccinated, whether in commanders' talks or in various benefits or sanctions, which are not always approved by the competent bodies.

Preliminary data show that the motivation to get vaccinated in the fighter array is high, and the hope is to reach a vaccination of at least 85% of each unit, to prevent corona outbreaks in units as there have been in recent months.

After the number of verified patients in the IDF increased to 2,000, the army hopes that this is already after the peak of morbidity. As of yesterday morning, 1,946 servants have been defined as infected with the virus and 9,709 servicemen in isolation.

Meanwhile, about 90 soldiers and commanders have been discovered in recent days as being infected with the corona virus at the armored school.

Most of the patients were concentrated in one company and the patients were transferred to their homes or to isolation in the recovering village.

In light of the high number of infections, the medical corps examined whether the soldiers were infected with one of the mutations, but the possibility was ruled out.

In light of the large outbreak in the unit, 460 hundred tests were carried out in the brigade, of which about 90, as mentioned, returned positive.

All infected in mild condition.
