The president of Emilia-Romagna Stefano Bonaccini is being investigated in a file for abuse of office opened by the Public Prosecutor of Ferrara on the alleged pressure reported a year ago, with a complaint by the mayor of Jolanda di Savoia, Paolo Pezzolato.
Attached to the complaint was the audio of a telephone call between the governor and the mayor.
According to Pezzolato, after the decision of the deputy mayor Elisa Trombin to support the Northern League candidate Borgonzoni in the regional, Bonaccini would have put pressure on neighboring municipalities to refuse to share some employees with Jolanda di Savoia.
"The only thing I say - Bonaccini said speaking to the administrator and referring to Trombin - is that from running with me to finding her there ... it is clear that after that there is a judgment. If by chance I win, how is it probable, but afterwards don't look for me anymore ".
The case exploded in the middle of the electoral campaign and Bonaccini spoke of "mud", defined it as "surreal" and said that he had made "honesty" his "banner of life" and of his "political commitment".
"We knew about the registration - Professor Vittorio Manes, defender of Bonaccini, told the Resto del Carlino - but we have no profile of concern". The investigation is ongoing, with powers entrusted to the judicial police.
