The Ministry of Health announced today (Wednesday) that people aged 35 and over can be vaccinated against the corona virus at all HMOs starting tomorrow.

This, about a week after the Clalit and Meuhedet Transparency Hospital announced that they would allow these age ranges to be vaccinated, even before the ministry approved.

Following the deviation of Clalit and Meuhedet last week, the director general of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Hezi Levy, scolded the directors of the health funds and said that they must follow the ministry's policy.

"No one is taking the law into their own hands," he said.

In a telephone conversation with the CEOs, Levy clarified that the vaccination policy is central and is determined by the Ministry of Health together with the funds.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Health issued a directive according to which it is possible to vaccinate against the corona under the age of 16 who are at risk of serious illness.

The ministry has stated for the first time that vaccines for young people in special and life-threatening situations can be considered.

This, following the increase in the number of children, which increased due to the mutations of the virus that came to Israel.

This is not yet a completely approved decision, and now the directive must go through Dr. Boaz Lev, chairman of the priority committee.

The directive states in the Ministry of Health that the decision to vaccinate the age range is better than not vaccinating, even within the existing risks of vaccination at ages for which there is insufficient information on dosage, efficacy and safety.
