CSU parliamentary group starts a discussion about the Bolzano market in 2022 out of nowhere.

Mayor Enrico Corongiu: "I don't see a way for 2022."

Mittenwald

- Georg Seitz (Free Voters) best expresses how surprised someone can be: "I almost knocked me off my chair," said Mittenwald's second mayor when his counterpart Dieter Schermak (CSU) joined the local council meeting on Tuesday evening on behalf of his parliamentary group Made a point of order.

The item Bozner Markt 2022 should be added to the agenda.

“The citizen should know that we are thinking about it,” Schermak told the daily newspaper.

“We wanted to initiate a discussion,” adds party friend Benedikt Zunterer.

"The information situation is very poor." Which is probably intended as a swipe for Mayor Enrico Corongiu (SPD).

In any case, the CSU took him and the other groups by surprise with their advance from nowhere.

For weeks, Mittenwalder have been puzzling over whether the Bolzano market will take place or not

For weeks the people of Mittenwald have been asking themselves: Can the historic market week, as planned, take place in August 2022?

Of course, this topic also concerns those responsible in the town hall.

Serious planning in times of a corona lockdown is tantamount to squaring the circle.

Therefore, from today's perspective, the mayor makes it clear: “I don't see a way for 2022.” Not least because of this, he called the parliamentary group spokesman into his office on Monday and discussed the situation.

Also at the table were mayor's secretary Hanna Veit and office manager Hermann Baier.

Both had already announced in August 2017 that they no longer wanted to be part of the Bolzano market organization team in the future.

A big blow for everyone because they had been an important support for the past five weeks of the market.

"What the two of them did was huge," explains their boss Corongiu.

At the Monday meeting, Veit and Baier discussed with the assembled council members again what needs to be done in advance when organizing this high-profile event (100,000 visitors) - for example with the security concept.

That made an impression, for example with the mayor.

“Because I have the great responsibility,” Corongiu says without further ado.

Everyone involved quickly agreed that Veit and Baier should submit this information to the entire municipal council as soon as possible.

The meeting on March 2nd was agreed.

I have the feeling that this is being postponed.

The municipal council should apparently only be left to decide to what point in time we postpone the Bolzano market.

CSU councilor Benedikt Zunterer

Schermak also sat at the table and agreed.

The next day he performed the role backwards and asked the committee in the school auditorium to discuss the Bolzano market now and immediately.

"I'm not alone in the parliamentary group," he justified himself to the daily newspaper.

If you believe his party colleague Zunterer, the CSU offensive is said to have been an ad hoc action immediately before the council meeting.

“I have the feeling that this is being postponed,” says the lawyer.

"Apparently, the council should only be left to decide when to postpone the Bolzano market." And the new opposition doesn't like that at all.

So, despite other arrangements, the blacks broke this issue off the fence.

Bärbel Rauch (SPD) found it “irresponsible”.

“We first need a new concept and an organizational team.” With which the retired high school teacher reportedly triggered a violent dispute.

"Everyone should first know what tasks and what responsibility we are facing," emphasizes Seitz to the daily newspaper.

Ursula Seydel (SPD) finally submitted the motion that the Bozner market debate, as discussed, should be discussed on March 2nd with the departing organization members Baier and Veit and that the further procedure should be discussed.

This motion was approved against the votes of the CSU with 11: 8.
