A 37-year-old man killed his father and mother, two in their sixties, by firearms, before killing themselves on Wednesday in Pange (Moselle), the Metz prosecutor's office said.

The investigation must determine the causes of the double parricide, said the same source, stressing that the exact time of the deaths had not yet been determined.
Shots were heard around 6:45 am, reported a resident of the village to the Republican Lorrain, who revealed the information.
According to the prosecution, early in the morning, the man "
was in contact with the gendarmerie
" and announced that he "
had killed his parents by firearm
". A gendarmerie device was then set up and "
when the gendarmes intervened they found the deceased person
", explained the same source. "
The exchange between the gendarmes and the son took place until 8:00 am or 9:00 am and the gendarmes intervened around 11:00 am
", said the prosecution, considering that the suicide had occurred during this period. Autopsies of the victims are scheduled for Friday, said the prosecution.
