After the great success of the Advent calendar campaign, the two organizers of "Bichl Mit einer", Lilly Schöffmann and Christina Schmid, are now pursuing a new idea: They are planning a fasting route.
Bichl - "We received so much positive feedback on the campaign before Christmas, and everyone said they wanted a new campaign," reports Lilly Schöffmann.
That is why they thought about how they can promote the community spirit in the Easter season.
The young mothers would like to create a station path for Lent in the Lindenallee between Bichl and Benediktbeuern.
The idea is to create a beautiful tree every day on 42 days between Ash Wednesday (February 17th) and Easter Monday (April 5th).
The avenue of linden trees has over 90 trees, so that almost half of the trees have a so-called "godfather".
The station path should invite you to take a walk and think.
The action is based on the Christian faith and should refer to creation.
Schöffmann and Schmid are supported by the parish Benediktbeuern-Bichl, more precisely by Deacon Hubertus Klingebiel from Benediktbeuern and Diana Ruf, who organized the Advent window campaign in Bichl.
“The parish takes over the organization of Sundays and the entire Holy Week,” says Schöffmann.
Two citizens have already reported.
Currently there are still 26 days or trees "free".
Schöffmann and Schmid want to hold back this time and are looking for citizens from Bichl and Benediktbeuern (“yes, the avenue connects us”) as well as associations from both communities who are willing to sponsor a tree.
In contrast to the advent calendar, this time no companies are involved that have contributed small profits and gifts.
"We want to consciously avoid this during Lent," says Schmid.
For the tree design, the two women suggest Christian or secular impulses such as songs, prayers, poems and pictures.
“On some days, the well-known paper bags with small presents, handicraft materials and stories will be available to take away,” say the two.
"So it is worth taking a little walk every day."
But there are rules for the design of the trees, emphasizes Schöffmann.
They are communicated everywhere, for the active ones then again in a WhatsApp group.
For example, thumbtacks or scratches are prohibited.
Each “godfather” is responsible for his tree and should regularly check that everything is in order.
Because the trees are exposed to the weather, the two organizers recommend laminating the pictures and texts.
The organizers have already revealed that on a tree there will be information about local butterflies.
It is planned that the tree in question will be decorated every day from 9 a.m.
"The whole action is back in the open and works with the rules of distance," says Schöffmann.
The two women from Bichler hope that “Bichler and Benediktbeurer will put something on their feet together and that we will all have a nice Lent”.
Registration deadline for the promotion is Sunday, January 31st.
