In turn, the head of the Italian Pharmaceutical Companies Association, Massimo Scaccaparuzzi, said that Italy had conducted central negotiations to reserve a large number of vaccine doses against the Coronavirus, and contracts had been signed with six companies providing for the reservation of one and a half billion doses in addition to another 700 million doses over time.
He added that if other vaccines against Corona were approved quickly, such as "AstraZeneca and Jansen" and 16 other vaccines in the third stage of testing, Italy would be able to reach herd immunity before the summer.
