The unit, which was launched last October, completed the trial operation and recently started actual production, as confirmed by Thaer Hussein, head of the unit, in a statement to SANA's correspondent, saying that the establishment of the unit was a result of the urgent need to secure cardboard plates for the Tartous Poultry Facility and the facilities of the General Organization for Poultry, where we suffered during the period In the past, the difficulty of securing the material, the high prices, and its monopoly by the private sector.

Today, the unit fully secures the needs of the Tartous and Lattakia poultry establishments of cardboard dishes, according to Hussein. The Suwayda and Hummus poultry facility is also supplied, confirming that the unit’s plan in the future will cover all the needs of the General Poultry Corporation.

The unit has another additional feature that its president talks about, which is preserving the cleanliness of the environment by recycling the damaged paper, explaining that they collect the damaged paper and convert it into a product that can be used again after being kneaded and treated with water only, without any additives or chemicals.

The director of the Tartous poultry facility, Engineer Muhammad Ibrahim, indicated that the selling price of a bundle of 100 dishes is 5300 Syrian pounds, while it is in the private sector at 6300 and 6500.

He added: The unit is currently working according to the two shifts system, and in the event that it operates 24 hours a day, it provides approximately 35 job opportunities, pointing out that recently the Minister of Agriculture has directed to secure the necessary employment from the surplus workers in the departments of the Ministry in the governorate.

Head of the technical department of the factory Rami Sweiqat between the working mechanism through which the cardboard dishes are produced, where the damaged paper is placed in the kneader for a period of a third of an hour and then to the tanks through a pump and then to the formation and then to the oven to be processed for a period of half an hour to three quarters of an hour at a temperature of 140 - 130 degrees Celsius, stressing that the technicians in the unit deal with any malfunctions that they may encounter and fix them themselves.
