Since taking office, Joe Biden has already set a record by signing 40 presidential decrees, directives and memoranda in seven days.
Most of them are “executive orders”, which lead to immediate action by the Administration, the others being only “executive actions”, less restrictive directives.
Some of these decisions were aimed at canceling measures taken by Donald Trump, in particular with regard to immigration or the environment.
Others were in line with the Democratic President's campaign promises: economic support for households, the fight against climate change and racial or sexual discrimination.
But the main effort of the new administration relates above all to the fight against the pandemic, in particular in terms of production and distribution of vaccines.
