31 soldiers were injured during the protests in the Lebanese city of Tripoli, while the security forces arrested five people for this.

The Lebanese Army Command said in a statement today: “31 soldiers were wounded and bruised as a result of being attacked and throwing stones, Molotov cocktails and fireworks by a number of protesters during demonstrations in Tripoli yesterday, and military vehicles and equipment were also damaged.”

The statement indicated that five people were arrested for trespassing on public and private property, fabricating riots, and being exposed to security forces.

The protests renewed in Beirut, Tripoli, Sidon, and some areas of the Lebanese Bekaa yesterday, against the background of the living and economic conditions during the general closure due to the Corona virus.

Since October 17, 2019, many Lebanese regions have been witnessing demonstrations and sit-ins to protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions and to demand the fight against corruption in the country.
