Dozens of people were injured in clashes between security forces and demonstrators in the port city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon.
The Lebanese Red Cross said on Twitter that 45 protesters had been treated.
In addition, 31 soldiers were injured, as the Lebanese army reported.
Five people were arrested.
The demonstrators took to the streets for the second day in a row on Tuesday evening to protest the poor economic situation.
Among other things, they shouted "we want to eat" and called for the far-reaching exit restrictions to be relaxed.
The Mediterranean country is experiencing one of the worst economic and financial crises in its history.
The Lebanese pound has lost more than 80 percent of its value against the dollar.
At the same time, inflation is more than 100 percent.
A large part of the population lives in poverty.
The corona pandemic has made the situation even worse.
Coronavirus, explosion in the port of Beirut, mass protests
Due to the high number of infections, the government in Beirut decided on a far-reaching lockdown about two weeks ago.
There is a 24-hour curfew.
The supermarkets are also closed.
Measured by its population (6.8 million), Lebanon is currently reporting more new infections than almost any other country in the world (most recently more than 3000 within 24 hours).
But not only the pandemic is accelerating economic decline.
The explosion in the port of Beirut at the beginning of August also exacerbated the situation.
The highly explosive chemical ammonium nitrate, which is said to have been stored unsecured in the port for years, caused the explosion in August with more than 190 dead and more than 6,000 injured.
Large parts of the port of Beirut and the surrounding residential areas were badly damaged or completely destroyed.
Mass protests followed.
Hundreds of thousands took to the streets to demonstrate against what they believed to be corrupt rulers and the rotting infrastructure.
