The conclusion that emerges from these surveys is that contrary to the old perception, psychological treatment is not only about mental illness and personality disorders, but many use developmental therapy to reach goals, sharpen their worldview, learn to look at things more productively, providing a foundation and tools that can help each And one to move forward in life.

14X14 - A unique concept for personal care

In the system of the elected section, we learned that in the last three years, a personal development workshop called 14X14 has been created.

This workshop consists of 14 sessions, 14 participants and 3 facilitators, and it has made a name for itself among professionals in the field of personal care and coaching, as it has developed a unique niche, which has been found to be significantly effective.

The winner of the workshop is the main facilitator, Sophie Ben Dor, a clinical psychologist, along with Yuval Ben Simon and Michal Wilensky, senior coaches for the development of self-confidence.

A producer, a member of the editorial board, met these three women professionals, in order to hear more about the only workshop of its kind in the country, which is currently just beginning its fourth cycle.

Graduates of the workshop attest to significant change and the workshop as a leap into new life.

The 14X14 workshop is designed for ages 20+, and it uniquely and effectively combines clinical psychology with cognitive training.

The work in the group is individual, each working on his goals according to what he defined in the first meetings with the help of the facilitators.

At the beginning of the work, a deep and accurate psychological observation is made, which allows you to combine training tools and training skills later in the process in order to create change.

The benefits of 14X14

I asked the psychologist, Sophie Ben Dor, what are the benefits of the workshop over individual therapy or a training process?

She replied: "Working in a group is more like dealing with 'nature'. Treatment or personal training may" suffer "from the therapist or coach's over-protection. 14 participants and 3 facilitators are more than one pair of eyes watching you - more accurate observation than personal reporting.

" Think about it, if I tell the story as I understand it, I can also determine my therapist in an inaccurate interpretation.

What’s more, each therapist / coach has his or her own personal history, beliefs, opinions and preferences, which can get the trainee’s process stuck.

The work in our group is personal and individual, each participant uses the group for his or her needs: to receive feedback, to receive a mirror, to receive a model - "how others solved it", to feel that they see and understand me.

"In our workshop from WTR, it is allowed to be in the company of other people as well, without fear of judgment and criticism. The group will allow the best conditions for personal growth. We as facilitators maintain everyone's personal sense of security, the attitude is - always in your favor." .

Why do people fail to solve the various problems on their own?

Yuval Ben-Simon explains: "Sometimes the difficulty stems from defining the problem incorrectly or inaccurately, missing or inaccurate in the definition or superstition about it, will make it difficult to solve the problem and may lead the process to a dead end. As part of the process, practical tools and personal guidance will be provided. Perceptual, emotional and behavioral change, so that they remain imprinted in everyone for life. "

Is it possible to identify the problems of each one individually in a 14-participant workshop?

"I will start by saying that often, when approaching personal care only, people do not always tend to tell everything that is on their mind," Michal Wilensky said, adding, "In a 14-person workshop, even after our personal conversation with everyone before going out on the process, because This is a group, we have the ability to see the various problems even if we have not received a full report.Because the problem "sits" there in the room, we can observe it, so we have the opportunity to reach the highest accuracy, far beyond one-on-one personal conversation "Whether it's a problem of shyness, or over-aggression, insecurity or anything else, it can't be avoided or hidden when there is a large group of people around."

What will the workshop give me?

Sophie Ben Dor noted some of the things: "There are a variety of issues we touch on while moving, increasing self-confidence, achieving personal goals, dealing with anxiety and more. But it is important for me to note, we do not use stencils because one's lack of self-confidence "The other person's self-confidence. We learn the personal experience of each participant and from there we begin to move towards a solution. In the workshop, we will adapt the process to each person according to his personality and work style."

14X14 - It suits me, how to join?

The workshop takes place on the campus of the Open University in the Green Village in Ramat Hasharon, as part of Tafnit - a school for principals.
