US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke today (Thursday) with Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, and the two agreed to continue working together to bring peace and stability to the region.
Blinkan praised the progress Israel has made in achieving normalization with Arab states under the Abrahamic Agreement, preceded by the previous administration, and stated that the United States sees a common interest in the process.
Ashkenazi, for his part, thanked Blinken for the "deep partnership between Israel and the United States" and expressed hope that the two countries would continue to work closely to meet the challenges ahead.
Earlier, Blinken said during a news conference that the United States would return to the nuclear deal as long as Iran refused to fulfill its obligations and that it planned to break them in the future.
"It will take time before we can judge whether Iran's intentions are serious," the secretary of state said.
Yesterday, Secretary of State Blinkan announced the freeze on the sale of advanced F-35 fighter jets to the United Arab Emirates.
While the Secretary of State has argued that this is a standard step designed to examine arms deals carried out by the previous administration, some fear that this is a comprehensive move to change the previous administration's policy in the Middle East.
