Aich - One or more dogs killed a deer on the outskirts of Aich on Wednesday.

A walker spotted the deer on the side of the road and alerted the hunt management.

The hunter found the dead animal.

The incident was not reported.

Fürstenfeldbruck - It happens in the late morning or noon on the northern outskirts of Aich near the football field.

It must have been a big dog, says Andreas Rauch, head of the Aich hunting ground.

Or several, because otherwise they would probably not have caught the deer in the snow.

The bite marks on the neck also testify to this.

“The deer have a harder time in winter, they cannot move so quickly in deep snow,” explains Rauch.

In addition, they use a lot of energy to escape.

Holder can hardly be identified

The owner did not report the incident to the hunting association or the police.

This honesty rarely occurs, explains Rauch, because in addition to a hefty fine, there is also a claim for damages and an obligation to leash ordered by the district office.

Most would want to avoid that.

“So we will probably never find out who is the owner.” Every year free-roaming dogs tear one or two deer in the districts in the area, reports Rauch.

The last incident in the Aich hunting area was several years ago.

"We are a long dog mile, but it still rarely happens," says the district manager.

His appeal to dog owners: put your four-legged friends on a leash and watch out that they don't hunt any game.

Especially in the winter months.

"In summer the deer are just fitter and have escaped."
