The state of Guatemala last night (Thursday) adopted the IHRA definitions for the fight against anti-Semitism, on the symbolic date of International Holocaust Remembrance Day that took place yesterday.
The Congress in the Latin country approved the decision by a majority of 103 supporters against only three abstentions.
Israeli Ambassador to Guatemala Mati Cohen congratulated the decision and said: "I congratulate the members of the Guatemala Congress who in perfect time and by an overwhelming majority made a decision today recognizing the definition of IHRA anti-Semitism and thus conveyed a clear message that Guatemala, which has never suffered from anti-Semitism, calls on all nations of the world to eradicate." .
