Bishkek-Sana
Sadr Jabarov was sworn in today as the new President of Kyrgyzstan to succeed the outgoing President Suronbai Jinbekov.
The Russian news agency TASS reported today that the inauguration ceremony was attended by former presidents Surunbay Genbekov and Rosa Otunbayeva, former heads of parliament, as well as the presidential candidates who participated in the elections, deputies, ministers, diplomats accredited in the country and the Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Stanislav Zas.
The Central Elections Commission of Kyrgyzstan officially announced on the 21st of January that Jabarov had won the presidential elections that were held on the tenth of this month.
It is noteworthy that Jabarov received 79.2 percent of the vote in the presidential elections that took place after former President Jinbekov announced his resignation on October 15th, against the backdrop of protests that erupted against the results of the parliamentary elections that took place on the fourth of the same month.
