Motorworld Munich hopes to open in March - with free admission.

The opening had to be moved several times, now it should finally work.

Munich - This project in Freimann has plenty of cubic capacity: Motorworld Munich extends over 75,000 square meters with 19 conference rooms, four event halls, seven restaurants, an exclusive clubhouse, a hotel - and, above all, lots of stylish automobiles.

Whether it's a classic car or a super sports car: there is something for every car fan.

Work is still underway, but the area is already fully let.

“Maybe we can open in March,” says Andreas Dünkel (56), head of the Motorworld Group.

Entry is then free.

At the moment an opening is out of the question because of the Corona * lockdown.

The opening was originally planned for the beginning of 2019, then the end of 2020 - and now spring 2021. Dünkel signed the purchase agreement for the 40,000 square meter former steam locomotive repair hall in 2010, and other buildings such as the Zenith were added later.

Incidentally, concerts will also take place here in the future.

In the end, Dünkel will have invested around 200 million euros - 85 million were once planned.

Motorworld Munich: In the hotels there are even rooms that you can drive to with your car

The locomotive hall is the center of the area.

Cars are exhibited and sold there, among other things.

Anyone who owns a special vehicle can rent one of 120 glass boxes as a garage.

The hall on Lilienthalallee stood empty for a long time, the railway had given up the plant in 1995.

Much there is still reminiscent of the earlier use.

“We want to preserve the history of the place with raw, industrial elements,”

explains managing director Arantxa Dörrié (53).

Some things in the gigantic hall are already in operation.

Like the workshop that the British luxury brand McLaren rented.

After all, workshops are allowed to be open despite the lockdown.

At the hotel, however, there is no rush to get the 156 rooms ready for occupancy.

There will even be rooms in which you can drive your car

.

The building next to the locomotive hall for the exclusive Drivers & Business Club is also finished and already in operation.

What is it now, the Motorworld?

A shopping-business-adventure park for automobile fans - and therefore quite exclusive.
