The Ministry of Health today (Thursday) published a series of recommendations for the administration of corona vaccines to women who are planning to become pregnant, pregnant women or breastfeeding women.
Among other things, the ministry recommended not getting vaccinated during the first trimester of pregnancy.
The Ministry of Health's recommendations on the subject were formulated in a discussion held today, in which dozens of experts and professionals participated.
According to the discussion, at all stages of the pregnancy there is no evidence of harm to the fetus or during the pregnancy as a result of the vaccine, and no biological mechanism is known that can indicate such a possibility.
It was also clarified that there is no instruction not to vaccinate breastfeeding women.
The ministry advised women who received the first dose of the vaccine, and then found out about the pregnancy, to complete the second dose of the vaccine according to the usual schedule.
Pregnant women who are in the risk group for infection, such as workers in the health system or any other group defined as at risk, have also been recommended to be vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health clarified that "the first trimester of pregnancy is characterized by a relatively high rate of bleeding, miscarriages and the formation of fetal malformations, regardless of corona."
According to the experts, "In order to avoid suspicion, even accidental, between receiving the vaccine and these effects, we recommend that pregnant women who do not belong to the risk groups be vaccinated from the second trimester onwards."

For women planning amniocentesis, the Ministry of Health recommended avoiding the vaccine around the time of the acupuncture, and even clarified that an interval of at least a week between the vaccine and the acupuncture is desirable, to avoid fever or other side effects that could be interpreted as a complication of the acupuncture.
In addition, "due to the severity and severity of Corona disease, we reiterate our recommendation to the general population, especially women of childbearing age, pregnant women and lactating women to continue to adhere to the rules of social distance and masking and thus reduce the risk of exposure and infection," the Ministry of Health clarified.
