The Construction Industry Council and the Hong Kong Construction Association jointly launched the "Caring Site Epidemic Prevention and Inspection Service Plan" on December 22 last year to provide site personnel who voluntarily participate in the plan with new coronavirus testing.
The Development Bureau said today (28th) that the plan has provided testing services for more than 22,000 workers at 93 construction sites. Among them, 99.98% tested negative and four confirmed patients were identified.

The "Care for Construction Site Epidemic Prevention and Testing Service Plan" arranges professional testing service agencies to visit public and private construction sites to provide voluntary virus testing services for site personnel.
The Construction Industry Council and the Hong Kong Construction Association fund related projects, and the developer or main contractor pays part of the inspection fee.

Application deadline on January 31
The bureau also stated that the application for the testing program will be closed on January 31.
In addition to the above plan, the government also provides a free voluntary testing service for registered construction workers through the community testing center until January 31. Workers who intend to participate can make an appointment for testing through the "Community Testing Center Appointment System".
