UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday called on the United States and Iran to work together to break the current deadlock over the international nuclear deal reached with Tehran, while indicating not to expect to a quick outcome.

The new Democratic administration of Joe Biden has declared itself ready to re-engage the United States in the agreement, left in 2018 by Donald Trump, but Washington and Tehran are each waiting for a first step on the other.

," said the head of the UN, when asked at a press conference on the possibility that he leads a mediation to break the deadlock.

I believe that everyone, all those who have subscribed to the JCPoA (the name of the agreement, note) and the other interested parties must work together to reduce uncertainties, to face difficulties and obstacles
